The story of the piece
Saint Laurent
Saint Laurent denim skinny trousers
The story of Saint Laurent begins in 1961, when designer Yves Saint Laurent, after leaving the direction of Dior, founded his own maison alongside partner Pierre Bergé. The brand was born with an innovative vision: bringing the elegance of haute couture into the daily lives of modern women.

This garment, scandalous at the time, redefined the idea of femininity and anticipated cultural battles for gender equality. Also in that same year, the designer introduced the concept of luxury prêt-à-porter with the Rive Gauche line, making fashion more accessible without sacrificing elegance.
During the '70s and '80s, Yves Saint Laurent consolidated his style: sophisticated, sensual, yet also inspired by art (Picasso, Mondrian, Matisse) and exotic cultures. His muses – such as Catherine Deneuve, Bianca Jagger, and Paloma Picasso – became style icons.
After Saint Laurent's retirement in 2002 (he passed away in 2008), various creative directors succeeded one another until the arrival of Hedi Slimane in 2012. Slimane brought a radical shift: he changed the name to Saint Laurent, making the brand more rock, youthful, and rebellious, relaunching it on the global market. Following him, Anthony Vaccarello, the current creative director, continues the legacy of sensuality, sharp elegance, and expressive strength.
Today, Saint Laurent is one of the most influential brands in contemporary luxury. It combines heritage and innovation, through impeccable tailoring, bold style, and a transgressive spirit. It is a symbol of sophisticated, independent, and timeless fashion, perfectly faithful to the revolutionary vision of its founder.
