The story of the piece
Fendi
Fendi Zucchino and lurex canvas belt
The history of Fendi began in Rome in 1925, when Adele Casagrande and Edoardo Fendi founded a small boutique specializing in furs and leather goods. From its early days, the brand distinguished itself through artisanal excellence and the quality of its materials, attracting a refined and international clientele. The entry of the five daughters into the company's management marked a phase of growth and innovation.
The true turning point came in 1965, with the arrival of Karl Lagerfeld as creative director. Lagerfeld revolutionized the use of fur, making it lighter and more modern, and introduced the famous "FF" logo, symbol of "Fun Fur," destined to become iconic. Thanks to his vision, Fendi established itself as one of the most innovative brands in the fashion landscape.
In the eighties and nineties, the maison expanded its offering to include prêt-à-porter, accessories, and fragrances, consolidating its international presence. Among the most famous creations is the Baguette, launched in 1997, which became a symbol of style and modernity.
In 2000, Fendi joined the LVMH group, further strengthening its global expansion. Following Lagerfeld's passing in 2019, creative direction was entrusted to Silvia Venturini Fendi and Kim Jones, who reinterpret the maison's heritage with a contemporary vision.
Today, Fendi represents a perfect balance between Roman tradition and innovation, keeping its artisanal identity alive. The collections express luxury, creativity, and stylistic research, making the brand a benchmark in the international fashion and design landscape.
