The story of the piece

Louis Vuitton

Louis Vuitton Tresor Damier Azur canvas belt

Louis Vuitton was founded in 1854 in Paris by Louis Vuitton, an artisan specializing in the creation of travel trunks. In an era when luggage featured domed lids, Vuitton revolutionized the industry by introducing flat-topped trunks, which were more practical to stack during train and ship travel. The quality of materials, innovation, and artisanal care quickly made the brand synonymous with luxury and functionality.

In 1892, following the founder's passing, his son Georges Vuitton took the helm of the company, contributing to its international expansion. In 1896, he created the famous Monogram pattern, featuring the "LV" initials and floral motifs, designed to counter imitations and destined to become one of the most recognizable symbols in global fashion.

During the 20th century, Louis Vuitton expanded its offering by introducing suitcases, bags, small leather goods, accessories and, subsequently, clothing and footwear collections. Manufacturing excellence always remained at the heart of the Maison's philosophy, which continued to combine tradition and innovation.

In 1987, Louis Vuitton merged with Moët Hennessy to form the LVMH group, today the largest luxury group in the world. In the following years, the brand strengthened its image through the contribution of internationally renowned creative directors and collaborations with contemporary artists, transforming its creations into true style icons.
