The story of Dior begins in 1946, when Christian Dior founded his maison at number 30 Avenue Montaigne, in Paris. After years spent in the worlds of art and fashion, the designer debuted in 1947 with his first collection, which went down in history as the “New Look”. His revolutionary silhouettes, characterized by cinched waists, soft shoulders, and full skirts, marked a sharp break from the austerity of the war period and brought back a sense of sophisticated and opulent femininity.

Success was immediate and international. Dior became a symbol of rebirth and French luxury, expanding rapidly with lines of accessories, fragrances, and prêt-à-porter. In 1947, Miss Dior was also born, a fragrance dedicated to the designer's sister, which helped define the maison's olfactory identity.

Following the sudden death of Christian Dior in 1957, creative direction passed to a very young Yves Saint Laurent, followed in the years to come by other designers who reinterpreted the founder's legacy while keeping the maison's codes alive: elegance, sartorial structure, and attention to detail.

Over the decades, Dior has evolved, establishing itself as an absolute protagonist of haute couture and contemporary luxury. Today, the brand represents a balance between tradition and innovation, preserving the legacy of the “New Look” and projecting it into a modern and global vision of femininity.
