The story of the piece
Christian Dior
Christian Dior Dior Oblique large font bracelet
Christian Dior, one of the most celebrated designers of the 20th century, founded his fashion maison in 1946 in Paris. Born in Normandy in 1905, Dior grew up with a passion for art and design, which initially led him to work as a gallery owner. Following the economic crisis that affected his family, he moved towards fashion, collaborating with designers such as Robert Piguet and Lucien Lelong.

This revolutionized the fashion world with a feminine silhouette characterized by rounded shoulders, a cinched waist, and voluminous skirts. The “New Look” not only redefined feminine elegance but also marked the return of luxury and beauty after the austere years of the Second World War.
The Christian Dior maison expanded rapidly, introducing fragrances (such as the famous “Miss Dior”) and accessories. In the 1950s, Dior became the symbol of Parisian luxury, dressing celebrities and icons such as Grace Kelly, Marlene Dietrich, and Ava Gardner.
After Dior's sudden death in 1957, the young assistant Yves Saint Laurent took over the creative direction, continuing the founder's legacy. In the following years, the maison evolved under several creative directors, including Gianfranco Ferré, John Galliano, Raf Simons, and Maria Grazia Chiuri, each bringing a unique vision while respecting the house's DNA.
Today, Christian Dior is synonymous with timeless elegance, innovation, and craftsmanship. With collections ranging from haute couture to prêt-à-porter, accessories, and cosmetics, the maison continues to influence the global fashion landscape, celebrating the legacy of its founder.
