The story of the piece
Chanel
Chanel Timeless brooch in gold-plated metal
The history of Chanel is inextricably linked to the figure of its founder, Coco Chanel, one of the most influential personalities in 20th-century fashion. Born in 1883 in France, Gabrielle Chanel grew up in modest conditions but quickly developed a strong sense of independence and a revolutionary personal style.
In 1910, she opened her first shop in Paris, initially specializing in hats. Success was immediate, leading her to expand her business with boutiques in Deauville and Biarritz. Chanel stood out for her innovative approach: she liberated women from the constraints of the fashion of the time, introducing comfortable, linear, and elegant garments. Jersey, a fabric previously used for menswear, became one of the maison's symbols.
In the '20s, Chanel consolidated her fame with iconic creations such as the little black dress and the Chanel N°5 perfume, launched in 1921, destined to become a legendary fragrance. Her style embodied a new femininity: modern, practical, and sophisticated.
After a hiatus during the Second World War, Coco Chanel returned to the fashion world in 1954, relaunching the maison with the famous tweed jacket and the Chanel suit, still symbols of timeless elegance today.
After her death in 1971, the brand went through a period of transition until the arrival of Karl Lagerfeld in 1983, who reinterpreted the maison's codes, making it contemporary and global.
Today Chanel is one of the most prestigious fashion houses in the world, synonymous with luxury, innovation, and eternal style, keeping alive the revolutionary spirit of its founder.
