In the 1920s, Chanel revolutionized the female wardrobe by introducing an essential and functional style, in contrast to the rigid and richly decorated dresses of the era. She eliminated corsets and constraints, favoring clean lines, soft fabrics, and comfortable garments. Among her most famous creations are the celebrated tweed suit, the Little Black Dress, and the Chanel N°5 fragrance, launched in 1921 and destined to become one of the most iconic scents in history.

After a hiatus during the Second World War, Coco Chanel returned to the scene in 1954, relaunching the maison with collections that once again captivated the international public. Following the death of Coco Chanel in 1971, the maison underwent a period of transition until the arrival of Karl Lagerfeld as creative director in 1983. Since 2019, the creative direction has been entrusted to Virginie Viard, who has continued the maison's stylistic legacy with an elegant and modern approach.
