The story of the piece
Valentino
Valentino Garavani small Roman Stud leather bag
The story of Valentino Garavani is that of one of the greatest protagonists of Italian haute couture. Born in 1932 in Voghera, he showed a strong passion for design and elegance from a young age. He moved to Paris to study fashion at prestigious institutions such as the École des Beaux-Arts and the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture, subsequently working with established designers who refined his talent.
In 1960, he returned to Italy and founded his maison in Rome together with Giancarlo Giammetti. Success arrived quickly thanks to a sophisticated style characterized by clean lines, discreet luxury, and extraordinary attention to sartorial detail. His creations exalt an elegant and timeless femininity.
A distinctive element of his work is the famous "Rosso Valentino," an intense shade that became a symbol of the brand. In the 1960s and '70s, he dressed some of the most influential women in the world, including Jackie Kennedy, consolidating his international fame.
Throughout his career, Valentino Garavani built a fashion empire, expanding production to prêt-à-porter and accessories. After more than forty years of success, he retired in 2008, leaving a legacy of elegance, craftsmanship, and unmistakable style.
Today, his name remains synonymous with luxury and sophistication, a symbol of Italian excellence in the world and a source of inspiration for new generations of designers.
