The story of the piece

Versace

Versace cotton logo embroidered t-shirt

Versace is one of the most iconic and recognizable Italian fashion maisons in the world, founded by Gianni Versace in 1978 in Milan. From its very first women's collection, presented that same year, the brand has stood out for a bold, provocative, and theatrical style, blending elements of Greco-Roman classicism with pop influences and modern sensuality.

Gianni Versace was a visionary: he loved experimenting with vibrant colors, baroque prints, innovative materials, and cuts that enhanced the body. His glamorous and opulent style attracted international celebrities such as Madonna, Elton John, Prince, and Naomi Campbell, helping to transform runways into true fashion spectacles.

Versace cotton logo embroidered t-shirt In the 1990s, Versace was one of the main promoters of the supermodel phenomenon, creating memorable shows with iconic faces such as Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer, and Linda Evangelista. The Medusa logo, a symbol of magnetic beauty and power, became a recognized emblem worldwide.

The tragic death of Gianni Versace in 1997 marked a difficult moment for the company. Following his passing, his sister Donatella Versace took over the creative direction, carrying forward her brother's vision with a more modern approach while remaining faithful to the brand's DNA: luxury, sensuality, and expressive strength.

Over the years, Versace has expanded its offering to include menswear, accessories, fragrances, home decor, and haute couture (with the Atelier Versace line). In 2018, the brand was acquired by the Capri Holdings group, while maintaining its distinctive identity.

Today, Versace continues to be synonymous with bold glamour and Italian style, with Donatella Versace still at the creative helm, consolidating the cultural and artistic legacy of one of fashion's most influential families.
