The story of the piece
Louis Vuitton
Louis Vuitton Monogram resin Inclusion Speedy keyring
Louis Vuitton is one of the most famous and influential luxury maisons in the world, synonymous with elegance, craftsmanship, and innovation. Its history began in 1854, when Louis Vuitton founded his own company in Paris, specializing in the creation of trunks and travel goods. After working as an apprentice to a renowned French artisan, Vuitton developed an innovative vision of modern travel, creating products that were more practical and durable than those available at the time.
In 1858, he introduced the first flat-top trunk covered in Trianon waterproof canvas. This innovation revolutionized the luggage industry, as trunks could be easily stacked during train and ship travel. The success was immediate and contributed to the rapid growth of the company.
Upon the founder's death in 1892, his son Georges Vuitton took over the maison. In 1896, he created the famous Monogram Canvas pattern with the “LV” initials and characteristic floral symbols, designed to combat counterfeiting. The Monogram soon became one of the most recognizable emblems in the world of fashion and luxury.
During the twentieth century, Louis Vuitton progressively expanded its offering, introducing models destined to become iconic, such as Keepall, Speedy, Alma, and Noé. From a simple trunk manufacturer, the brand transformed into a true international fashion house, always maintaining a strong connection to the theme of travel.
In 1987, the LVMH group was born, the result of the merger between Louis Vuitton and Moët Hennessy, which would become the largest luxury conglomerate in the world. In the following years, creative directors such as Marc Jacobs, Nicolas Ghesquière, Kim Jones, Virgil Abloh, and Pharrell Williams contributed to strengthening the brand's prestige through innovative collections and highly successful artistic collaborations.
