The story of the piece

Lanvin

Lanvin square acetate sunglasses

Lanvin is one of the oldest and most respected fashion maisons in the world, founded in 1889 in Paris by Jeanne Lanvin. Coming from a bourgeois family, Jeanne began her career in the fashion world by creating dresses for her daughter Marguerite, which soon led her to become a successful designer. Her initial boutique, opened on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, quickly became a landmark for Parisian haute couture.

Her designs were characterized by fluid and delicate lines, using precious fabrics and intricate details. Lanvin was one of the first designers to present children's collections, establishing a new niche in the fashion market. In the following years, the brand expanded its offering with fragrances and accessories, creating the famous perfume “Arpège” in 1927, which became a symbol of luxury.

In the 1930s, Lanvin became the favorite maison of the most elegant and influential women of the time, with dresses that reflected the spirit of Paris at the time. After the death of Jeanne Lanvin in 1946, the maison went through several phases, changing hands and designers, but always maintaining a hallmark of refinement and innovation.

In 2001, Alber Elbaz became creative director, bringing a new energy to the brand with his modern and sensitive style. Lanvin, under his direction, continued to be synonymous with elegance and sophistication. Today, Lanvin is one of the most iconic fashion houses, appreciated for its tradition, quality, and timeless design.
