Moschino

The Moschino brand was founded in 1983 in Milan. The founder of the Italian fashion house was Franco Moschino, whose name gave rise to the brand itself. The brand achieved immediate success thanks to its innovative, colorful, and somewhat eccentric designs. Strongly influenced by the Surrealist art movement of the 1920s, Moschino was known for decorating a suit with real cutlery, using dozens of miniature teddy bears as a hat and scarf, creating a strapless dress bodice with golden safety pins, and designing a skirt made of nothing but vertical rows of zippers: throughout all this, his tailoring skill was evident. After his passing, Rossella Jardini and Jeremy Scott succeeded him; the latter revived the theater of the absurd founded by Moschino, continuing with irreverent, exaggerated, and colorful collections that have captivated the global jet-set over the years.
