Gianni Versace, born on December 2, 1946, in Reggio Calabria, was one of the most celebrated Italian designers, known for his audacity and innovation in the fashion world. Raised in a family of tailors, he developed a passion for design and tailoring from a young age. He moved to Milan in 1972, where he began working with other designers before founding his fashion house, Versace, in 1978.

His collaboration with the music world, particularly with singers such as Madonna and Elton John, helped increase his international fame.
In 1994, his life was tragically cut short when he was murdered in front of his villa in Miami, Florida, by serial killer Andrew Cunanan. Versace's death deeply shook the worlds of fashion and popular culture.
