The story of the piece
Gucci
Gucci GG Jacquard lycra tights
The history of Gucci began in 1921 in Florence, when Guccio Gucci founded a small leather goods and luggage shop. Inspired by his work in luxury hotels in London and Paris, Guccio wanted to create products that combined international elegance with Italian craftsmanship.
In the 1930s, Gucci gained popularity through its bags and equestrian accessories. During the Second World War, material shortages led to the creation of the famous bamboo handle for bags, which became one of the brand's symbols. In the 1950s, Gucci expanded internationally with the opening of stores in New York and other world capitals.
Gucci GG Jacquard lycra tights. The 1960s were a golden era for Gucci, thanks to the iconic GG motif and the green-red-green web, symbols of the brand's heritage. Celebrities such as Audrey Hepburn and Jackie Kennedy helped make the brand a global symbol of luxury.
However, in the 1980s, the company faced economic difficulties and family conflicts. The acquisition by Investcorp in the 1990s and the appointment of Tom Ford as creative director in 1994 marked a turning point. Ford redefined the brand with a provocative and glamorous style, relaunching it as a leader in contemporary fashion.
Since 2004, under the Kering group, Gucci has continued to innovate. With the arrival of Alessandro Michele as creative director in 2015, the brand embraced an eclectic and inclusive style, celebrating diversity and attracting a new generation of consumers.
Today, Gucci is synonymous with luxury, creativity, and sustainability, blending tradition and modernity to maintain its status as a global icon.
