The story of the piece
Chanel
Chanel CC Runner nylon and suede sneakers
Chanel is one of the most prestigious and influential maisons in fashion history. Founded in Paris in 1910 by Coco Chanel, she revolutionized women's dressing by introducing an elegant, practical, and modern style, in stark contrast to the rigid silhouettes and corsets that dominated the era.
Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel, known as Coco Chanel, began her business with a hat boutique that quickly achieved success among French high society. In the following years, she expanded her offering by creating garments characterized by simple lines, comfortable fabrics, and a new idea of femininity based on freedom of movement. The use of jersey, previously considered a modest material, represented a true innovation in the fashion world.
In the 1920s, Chanel consolidated her international fame thanks to iconic creations such as the famous Chanel N°5, one of the most renowned perfumes in the world. In 1926, she also introduced the “Little Black Dress,” the essential black dress that became a symbol of timeless elegance.
After a period of inactivity during the Second World War, Coco Chanel returned to the scene in 1954, relaunching the maison with the famous tweed suit, characterized by a soft jacket and matching skirt. In the following years, Chanel continued to represent a benchmark for French luxury.
In 1983, creative direction was entrusted to Karl Lagerfeld, who reinterpreted the founder's legacy with a contemporary style, helping to strengthen the brand's global prestige. His collections combined tradition and innovation, winning over new generations of clients.
