The story of the piece
Valentino
Valentino Garavani Open leather sneakers with patent stripe
Valentino Garavani, known simply as Valentino, is one of the most celebrated and influential designers in Italian fashion. Born in 1932 in Voghera, Lombardy, Valentino soon developed a passion for fashion. After studying in Paris, he began working as an apprentice for famous French designers, including Guy Laroche and Jean Dessès, honing his skills and his taste for haute couture.

His official debut took place in 1962 in Florence, then the capital of Italian fashion, with a collection that achieved extraordinary success. His style immediately stood out for its classic elegance, refined details, and masterful use of color, particularly the famous "Valentino red," an intense and vibrant shade that became a symbol of the brand.
In the '60s and '70s, Valentino became the preferred couturier for celebrities and international high society. His clientele included icons such as Jacqueline Kennedy, for whom he designed the mourning dress after the assassination of John F. Kennedy, and Audrey Hepburn, as well as many other Hollywood stars. The Valentino brand was synonymous with luxury, femininity, and glamour.
In 1968, Valentino launched an all-white collection, which marked a turning point in fashion and was acclaimed by critics. In the following years, the designer continued to expand his influence in the worlds of haute couture and prêt-à-porter, creating an empire that also included perfumes, accessories, and shoes.
Valentino officially retired from the runways in 2008, after nearly 50 years of career, but his brand remains a symbol of timeless elegance and impeccable craftsmanship, maintaining a legacy that continues to influence contemporary fashion.
