The history of Sergio Rossi began in the 1950s in the heart of San Mauro Pascoli, a small town in Emilia-Romagna known for its footwear tradition. Sergio Rossi, born in 1935, inherited the passion for shoes from his father, also a shoemaker. After years of apprenticeship, he founded the eponymous brand in 1968, presenting his first collection under his own name.
Success was immediate: the sandals, with their elegant and precise shape and extreme attention to fit and foot anatomy, won over female audiences. In the 70s and 80s, Sergio Rossi collaborated with major names in Italian haute couture, including Gianni Versace, Azzedine Alaïa, and Dolce & Gabbana, consolidating the brand as a symbol of luxury, craftsmanship, and sensuality.
