Loro Piana is one of the most prestigious Italian maisons in the luxury landscape, renowned for the absolute excellence of its fabrics and a tradition that dates back to the XIX century. The family history begins in the 1800s, when the Loro Piana family was already active in the wool trade in Piedmont, a region home to ancient spinning mills and textile traditions. However, the true foundation of the modern company took place in 1924, when Pietro Loro Piana established “Ing. Loro Piana & C.” in Quarona, with the goal of producing superior quality fabrics for luxury tailoring.
In the post-war period, with the arrival of subsequent generations, the company strengthened and specialized in the world's rarest natural fibers. Under the leadership of Franco and especially Sergio Loro Piana, the brand became a global leader in cashmere, baby cashmere, and the precious vicuña, the finest and most valuable animal fiber in existence. Loro Piana does not only trade these fibers but also contributes to their protection: in Peru and other Andean countries, it supports vicuña conservation projects, collaborating with local communities and protecting ancient knowledge.
Starting from the 90s, the company evolved from a textile producer into a complete fashion brand, creating garments and accessories characterized by a precise philosophy: quiet luxury, material perfection, and impeccable craftsmanship. This led to the creation of iconic pieces such as the baby cashmere coat, ultra-lightweight scarves, suede loafers, and storm system jackets, an innovative treatment that makes fabrics waterproof while maintaining their softness.
