In the 1940s, due to wartime restrictions, the brand introduced innovative materials such as bamboo, giving rise to the famous Bamboo Bag. Subsequently, distinctive codes were born, such as the Horsebit clasp and the green-red-green Web stripe, inspired by the equestrian world. Gucci quickly became a symbol of Italian luxury worldwide, cherished by celebrities and the international jet set.
During the 1970s and 1980s, the brand experienced strong global expansion but also faced difficulties related to family management and a loss of stylistic identity. The turning point came in the 1990s with Tom Ford, who relaunched the brand with a bold, sensual, and contemporary style.
In the following years, Frida Giannini and Alessandro Michele reinterpreted the Gucci aesthetic, introducing new creative visions and strengthening the link with contemporary culture.
