The story of the piece

Fendi

Fendi two-tone Havana square sunglasses

Fendi is a historic Italian fashion maison, founded in 1925 in Rome by Adele and Edoardo Fendi. Initially, the brand was a small leather goods and fur shop located in the heart of the Italian capital. Fendi distinguished itself from the very beginning through the high quality of its products and innovation in leather and fur processing techniques.

It was during this period that Fendi began to gain international renown, becoming a symbol of luxury and Italian artisanal tradition. The fashion house reached a major turning point in 1965, when Karl Lagerfeld was called to design the fur collections. Lagerfeld, with his innovative vision, transformed furs into a high-fashion element, giving birth to the famous “FF” (Fendi Roma) logo.

Over the years, Fendi has evolved, expanding its production to various luxury segments, including prêt-à-porter clothing, bags, shoes, and accessories. The “Baguette” Bag, launched in 1997, is one of the brand's most iconic models, becoming a symbol of status and sophistication.

In 2001, the brand was acquired by the LVMH group, but Fendi has maintained its creative independence. Today, under the direction of Silvia Venturini Fendi (daughter of one of the founders) and Lagerfeld's successor, Kim Jones, Fendi continues to be synonymous with innovation, elegance, and craftsmanship, remaining one of the leaders in the global luxury fashion sector.
