The story of the piece
Fendi
Fendi Zucchino canvas and sequins doctor bag handbag
The history of Fendi is one of the most fascinating in the Italian fashion landscape, marked by innovation, family tradition, and creative spirit.
Founded in 1925 in Rome by Edoardo and Adele Fendi, the maison began as a leather and fur workshop. Its artisanal quality and attention to detail quickly made it a reference point for Rome's most refined clientele. In the 1940s, the couple's five daughters — Paola, Anna, Franca, Carla, and Alda — joined the company, bringing a new dynamic vision.

Lagerfeld revolutionized the concept of fur, making it light, colorful, and modern. The famous “FF” (Fun Fur) logo was born, destined to become a global icon. Under his guidance, Fendi evolved from a family business into an international luxury brand.
In the 1990s, the maison expanded into prêt-à-porter, accessories, and fragrances. In 1997, Silvia Venturini Fendi, granddaughter of the founders, created the Baguette, a small shoulder bag that immediately became a cult item, a symbol of femininity and audacity.
In 2001, the LVMH group acquired a majority stake, fostering the brand's global expansion. Lagerfeld continued to lead the creative direction until his passing in 2019. Meanwhile, Silvia Venturini Fendi signed the menswear and accessories lines, while in 2020 Kim Jones was appointed creative director of womenswear.
Today, Fendi is synonymous with Italian luxury, a perfect fusion of craftsmanship, innovation, and Roman identity. Its collections combine elegance and experimentation, making the brand one of the absolute protagonists of the international fashion system.
