The story of the piece

Fendi

Fendi logo print cotton t-shirt

Fendi is one of the most prestigious Italian maisons, a symbol of luxury, craftsmanship, and innovation. Founded in Rome in 1925 by Adele and Edoardo Fendi, the house began as a fur and leather workshop. It quickly distinguished itself through the impeccable quality of its materials and artisanal workmanship, becoming a benchmark for the Roman elite.

Fendi logo print cotton t-shirt In the 1940s and '50s, the couple's five daughters – Paola, Anna, Franca, Carla, and Alda – joined the company, helping to modernize the brand's image. The true turning point came in 1965, when Karl Lagerfeld was appointed creative director of the fur division. With him, Fendi became an international brand. Lagerfeld revolutionized fur, making it lightweight, colorful, and innovative, and created the famous “FF” (Fun Fur) logo, which became iconic.

In 1997, Silvia Venturini Fendi – granddaughter of the founders – designed the Baguette, a small, compact bag to be carried under the arm. It was an immediate success, becoming a cult object and opening a new era for luxury accessories. Other iconic models followed, such as the Peekaboo and the Selleria.

Fendi became part of the LVMH group in 2001, further strengthening its global presence. Following Lagerfeld's passing in 2019, Silvia Venturini Fendi continued to lead the menswear and accessories lines, while in 2020 Kim Jones was appointed creative director for couture and womenswear, bringing a new contemporary vision to the maison.

Today, Fendi perfectly blends Roman tradition, experimentation, and artisanal savoir-faire. With its bold, elegant, and recognizable creations, it is an emblem of Italian style worldwide and a driving force in the international fashion landscape.
