After gaining experience in the sector working for several fashion companies, in 1978 he founded the Gianni Versace fashion house in Milan. From the very beginning, the designer stood out for a revolutionary style that combined luxury, sensuality, and artistic influences. His creations were characterized by vibrant colors, bold cuts, baroque prints, and innovative details that broke with the conventions of traditional fashion.

In the eighties, Versace became one of the absolute protagonists of the international scene. His collections celebrated a strong and confident femininity, introducing a new concept of contemporary glamour. The designer drew inspiration from classical art, Greek mythology, and pop culture, choosing the Medusa as the maison's symbol, an emblem of charm and power.

During the nineties, the brand achieved global notoriety thanks also to its privileged relationship with the supermodels of the era, including Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, and Claudia Schiffer. Versace was also one of the first designers to understand the link between fashion, music, and entertainment, dressing international artists and celebrities.

The maison progressively expanded its offering to include accessories, jewelry, perfumes, home decor, and collections dedicated to men and women. In 1997, Gianni Versace's career was tragically cut short by his passing, but his creative legacy continued through his family and the brand.
