Stella McCartney optical print midi dress After training at Central Saint Martins and early experiences at Christian Lacroix and as creative director of Chloé, Stella launched her brand in a joint venture with Kering, marking the beginning of an innovative journey in prêt-à-porter.

The brand quickly made its mark thanks to elegantly cut pieces and strategic collaborations: in 2004, the adidas by Stella McCartney line was born, revolutionizing women's sportswear.

In 2012, Stella designed the official uniform for the British Olympic team, a milestone in the world of sportswear.

On the sustainability front, the brand introduces innovations such as organic cotton (2008), recycled plastic lines, bio-acetate materials, biodegradable soles, and eliminates PVC, virgin cashmere, and angora. It began producing vegan Falabella bags, vegan shoes, and mushroom-based leather alternatives (Mylo™), in addition to collaborations with partners such as The RealReal for second-hand luxury.

In 2018, Stella completed the buyout of Kering's stake to become fully independent, and launched a partnership with LVMH while maintaining majority ownership and serving as a sustainability ambassador for the group.
