The story of the piece
Louis Vuitton
Louis Vuitton Mini Monogram silk tie
Louis Vuitton is one of the most prestigious luxury maisons in the world, founded in 1854 in Paris by Louis Vuitton, an artisan specializing in travel trunks. From the very beginning, the brand has stood out for innovation: Vuitton introduced the flat trunk in waterproof canvas, lighter and more easily stackable than traditional domed models. This invention revolutionized the world of travel and marked the maison's first great success.
In 1896, his son Georges Vuitton created the iconic LV Monogram pattern to combat imitations. The pattern, featuring stylized flowers and interlaced initials, quickly became a universal symbol of elegance and recognition. Throughout the twentieth century, Louis Vuitton expanded production to include bags, small leather goods, and accessories, always maintaining a strong identity linked to travel and artisanal quality.
Starting in the nineties, under the artistic direction of Marc Jacobs, the maison decisively entered the world of prêt-à-porter, also collaborating with contemporary artists such as Stephen Sprouse and Takashi Murakami. These partnerships helped renew the brand's image, making it even more desirable on a global scale.
Having joined the LVMH group, Louis Vuitton consolidated its international presence with boutiques in the major luxury capitals. In the following years, creative directors such as Nicolas Ghesquière and Virgil Abloh have continued to reinterpret the maison's historical codes with a modern perspective.
Today, Louis Vuitton represents the excellence of French luxury. The brand continues to combine artisanal tradition, innovation, and the spirit of travel, maintaining a strong identity that makes it one of the most influential and recognizable brands in global fashion.
