The origins of the Loro Piana family date back to the XIX century in Quarona, in the Biellese wool district, one of the most important areas in the world for the processing of fine fibers. As early as the beginning of the 1800s, the family was active in the wool trade, but it was in 1924 that Pietro Loro Piana officially founded the company.
For decades, Loro Piana has focused on producing the highest quality fabrics for the most prestigious international tailors. The company builds its reputation on a rigorous philosophy: selecting only the finest raw materials in the world and working them with cutting-edge techniques, without ever compromising craftsmanship. This approach leads to the discovery and enhancement of rare fibers such as baby cashmere, vicuña, and extra-fine merino wool.
In the seventies and eighties, under the leadership of Sergio Loro Piana and his brother Pier Luigi, the company evolved from a textile producer into a luxury brand. This gave rise to a line of clothing and accessories characterized by a sober, essential, and functional style, designed to last over time rather than follow trends.
In 2013, Loro Piana became part of the LVMH group, while maintaining its identity and control over production quality intact. Today, Loro Piana is synonymous with quiet luxury: a discreet elegance founded on exceptional materials, absolute comfort, and a deep respect for nature and artisanal expertise.
