Issey Miyake is one of the most innovative and influential brands in contemporary fashion, renowned for revolutionizing the relationship between design, technology, and craftsmanship. The maison is named after its founder, Issey Miyake, born in Hiroshima in 1938. After studying graphic design at Tama Art University in Tokyo, Miyake moved to Paris in the sixties, where he worked with major haute couture maisons, including those led by Guy Laroche and Hubert de Givenchy.

In 1970, he founded his own studio in Tokyo, giving rise to a brand that stood out from the beginning for its innovative vision of fashion. Miyake wished to create clothing that was accessible, functional, and suitable for daily life, without compromising aesthetic research. His collections combined the influence of Japanese culture with the most advanced textile techniques, giving rise to a unique stylistic language.

In the eighties and nineties, the brand gained international fame thanks to experimentation with materials and shapes. One of the most revolutionary projects was the Pleats Please Issey Miyake line, launched in 1993, characterized by lightweight, practical, and innovative pleated garments that could be folded without losing their shape. This technology became one of the maison's symbols.

Another important chapter in the brand's history was the A-POC (A Piece of Cloth) project, presented at the end of the nineties. Through advanced weaving technologies, it was possible to create garments from a single piece of fabric, reducing waste and anticipating concepts that are central to sustainable fashion today.

In addition to clothing, Issey Miyake has achieved great success in the fragrance sector, particularly with L’Eau d’Issey, which has become one of the most famous in the international perfumery landscape.
