The story of the piece
Gucci
Gucci Love Double Panther cotton T-shirt
Gucci is one of the most iconic Italian fashion maisons, a synonym for luxury, elegance, and innovation. Founded in 1921 in Florence by Guccio Gucci, the company began as a boutique specializing in high-quality leather goods, inspired by the elegance of the English aristocracy and the equestrian world. Success was immediate, thanks to its craftsmanship and premium materials.
Gucci Love Double Panther cotton T-shirt In the 1930s, Gucci introduced the famous green-red-green ribbon, inspired by saddle webbing, which became one of the brand's distinctive symbols. In the 1950s, with the opening of its first store in New York, Gucci conquered the international market. During this period, icons such as the Bamboo bag, made with a bamboo handle during the post-war era, and the bit loafer, still a timeless classic today, were born.
During the 1970s and 1980s, the brand expanded its offerings but also experienced internal tensions among family members. After a period of decline, in the 1990s, Gucci was reborn thanks to the arrival of Tom Ford as creative director: his sensual and modern vision revitalized the brand's image, making it a symbol of glamour.
In 2004, Frida Giannini arrived, leading the maison until 2015 with a sophisticated and romantic style. From then on, Gucci was revolutionized by Alessandro Michele, whose eclectic, vintage, and genderless approach redefined luxury codes, transforming Gucci into a global cultural phenomenon.
In 2023, Sabato De Sarno became the new creative director, marking the beginning of a new era with a cleaner and more modern aesthetic.
Today Gucci, part of the Kering group, continues to fuse Italian craftsmanship and innovation, remaining among the most influential and recognizable brands in the world.
