The story of the piece
Gucci
Gucci cappello da baseball in tela cerata logo
Gucci is one of the most famous fashion maisons in the world, founded in 1921 in Florence by Guccio Gucci. Inspired by his work in luxury hotels in London, Guccio decided to open a boutique specializing in leather goods and travel items, focusing on artisanal quality and refined style.
In the post-war period, the company expanded internationally, opening boutiques in Rome, New York, London, and Paris. In the 1960s and '70s, Gucci became a symbol of global luxury, beloved by celebrities and aristocrats. It was during this period that the famous double G interlocking logo was also born.
After a phase of crisis and family conflicts in the 1980s, Gucci was reborn in the 1990s thanks to the creative direction of Tom Ford, who brought sensuality, boldness, and glamour to the brand's vision.
In the 2000s, under the leadership of Frida Giannini and later Alessandro Michele (from 2015 to 2022), Gucci continued to reinvent itself, blending vintage influences, romanticism, and experimentation. Michele redefined the concept of gender fluidity and created an eccentric and intellectual aesthetic.
In 2023, Sabato De Sarno was appointed new creative director, with the goal of leading Gucci towards a new, essential elegance.
Today Gucci is part of the Kering group and is synonymous with creativity, Italian craftsmanship, and innovation, with a global cultural impact.
