The story of the piece

Gucci

Gucci by Tom Ford acetate sunglasses

On March 26, 1881, Guccio Gucci, founder of the Maison, was born in Florence. In 1897, the young Florentine moved to London, where he worked as a porter at The Savoy hotel. The jet-set allure and the fascination with an affluent lifestyle and beauty drove him to open his boutique; Guccio was inspired by luxury and quality, gradually expanding the product range to include other fashion accessories such as bags, belts, and gloves. From there, the brand began its ascent toward great success.

We recognize the brand's signature in the equestrian symbols and the interlocking double G created in 1955, as well as its iconic colors: the famous green and red Gucci stripe inspired by the underside of a horse saddle.

Pieces that have written fashion history, such as the famous Jackie, worn by Jacqueline Kennedy in the Sixties, the loafers adorned with the horsebit, and the Flora print on accessories and dresses.
