Burberry logo cotton T-shirt. In 1891, the first store opened in London. Over time, Burberry became an official supplier to the Royal Family and accompanied famous explorers, such as Ernest Shackleton and Roald Amundsen, on their extreme expeditions.

In 1912, the famous trench coat was born, derived from the military coat worn by British soldiers during the First World War. The Burberry trench became a symbol of style and practicality, recognizable by details such as epaulettes, the belt, and double rows of buttons.

In the 1920s, the famous check pattern (the beige tartan with black, red, and white stripes) was introduced, initially used as a lining for trench coats. In the following decades, it would become one of the most recognizable and imitated patterns in the world.

Throughout the twentieth century, Burberry grew as a global brand, but between the 1980s and 2000, it went through a period of overexposure, losing part of its prestige. The turning point came in the early 2000s with the arrival of new creative directors and a relaunch plan aimed at modernizing the brand's image.

Under the guidance of Christopher Bailey and subsequently Riccardo Tisci, Burberry rediscovered its British DNA by merging it with contemporary fashion. Today, with Daniel Lee at the creative helm (since 2022), the brand aims to strengthen its English roots with a more authentic and sophisticated aesthetic.

Burberry is today a symbol of heritage, innovation, and timeless style.
