The story of the piece

Christian Louboutin

Christian Louboutin all-over logo nylon belt

The story of Christian Louboutin, one of the world's most iconic footwear designers, began in Paris, where he was born in 1963. Fascinated from a young age by cabaret shoe designs and the style of the dancers at Folies Bergère, Louboutin developed a passion for women's footwear. As a teenager, he used to sketch high heels during class, inspired by the femininity and glamour of the entertainment world.

In 1991, he founded his own brand, opening his first boutique in Paris. The distinctive element of his creations was born almost by chance in 1993: to bring a shoe to life that was still incomplete, Louboutin took his assistant's red nail polish and painted the sole. Thus, the iconic "red sole" was born, a trademark recognizable worldwide.

Louboutin shoes are distinguished by bold designs, sensual silhouettes, and vertiginous heels, quickly becoming a symbol of luxury and desire. Celebrities, artists, and influential figures—from Madonna to Beyoncé, to Sarah Jessica Parker—contribute to consolidating the myth.

Over the years, the brand has expanded to include bags, small leather goods, and menswear collections, always maintaining a strong and recognizable identity. Since 2014, Louboutin has also launched a beauty line, starting with nail polish (naturally red) and subsequently lipsticks and perfumes.

Today, Christian Louboutin is synonymous with craftsmanship, elegance, and provocation. With boutiques worldwide and an international clientele, his creations continue to celebrate the aesthetic of female empowerment through style and sophistication.
