From its early years, the maison developed the intrecciato technique, a special weave of soft leather that became the aesthetic signature of Bottega Veneta. The intrecciato is not just a stylistic choice, but an ingenious solution to provide strength to thin leathers, transforming into a symbol of discreet and lasting luxury.

In the '70s and '80s, the brand captured a sophisticated and international audience. Personalities such as Andy Warhol even produced promotional short films for the maison, consolidating its artistic aura. However, in the '90s, the brand went through a period of decline, until its rebirth in 2001 with the acquisition by the Gucci Group (now Kering).

The true revival came with Tomas Maier, creative director from 2001 to 2018. Under his guidance, Bottega Veneta reaffirmed its identity built on excellent materials, sartorial craftsmanship, and essential design. Icons such as the Cabal, the Veneta, the Knot, and a series of collections were born, bringing the maison back to the center of global luxury.

In 2018, the arrival of Daniel Lee marked a contemporary turning point: the designer reinterpreted the intrecciato in a maxi version, introduced sculptural shapes, and created cult pieces such as the Pouch, the Cassette, and the Jodie, transforming Bottega Veneta into a cultural and social phenomenon.

Since 2021, the brand has been led by Matthieu Blazy, who combines innovation, artisanal savoir-faire, and material experimentation, further strengthening the sophisticated character of the maison.
