After studying at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London, McQueen presented a graduation collection that caught the attention of fashion stylist Isabella Blow, one of his earliest supporters. Thanks to his creativity and provocative style, the designer quickly conquered the international fashion scene.

In 1996, Alexander McQueen was appointed creative director of the maison Givenchy, a role he held until 2001, while continuing to develop his own brand in parallel. His runway shows became famous for their spectacularity, the use of scenographic effects, and the ability to tell stories through fashion. The collections combined impeccable tailoring, technical innovation, and references to art, nature, and history.

In 2001, the Kering group (then Gucci Group) acquired a majority stake in the brand, fostering its international expansion. Following the passing of Alexander McQueen in 2010, the creative direction passed to Sarah Burton, his long-time collaborator. Burton kept the designer's legacy alive, reinterpreting his codes with elegance and sensitivity. Among her most famous creations is the wedding dress of Catherine, Princess of Wales, worn in 2011.
