After completing his studies at the prestigious Central Saint Martins, McQueen presented a graduation collection in 1992 that immediately caught the attention of critics. In the same year, he founded his own brand, distinguishing himself with theatrical, provocative, and technically impeccable creations. His runway shows became true artistic spectacles, characterized by a strong emotional charge and references to British history, nature, and culture.

In the nineties, the designer achieved international fame thanks to his ability to combine tailoring tradition with experimentation. In 1996, he was appointed creative director of the French maison Givenchy, a role he held until 2001, while continuing to develop his own brand in parallel.

In 2001, the Kering group acquired a majority stake in the Alexander McQueen maison, fostering its global expansion. The collections expanded to include accessories, footwear, bags, and prêt-à-porter, always maintaining the founder's distinctive aesthetic.

Following the passing of Alexander McQueen in 2010, the creative direction passed to Sarah Burton, his long-time collaborator. Burton preserves the maison's heritage by reinterpreting it with contemporary sensibility, contributing to the consolidation of its international prestige.
