The story of the piece
Louis Vuitton
Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM Monogram canvas shoulder bag
Louis Vuitton is one of the most prestigious and recognized luxury maisons in the world, a symbol of elegance, craftsmanship, and innovation. Its history began in 1854, when Louis Vuitton founded his own company in Paris, specializing in the creation of trunks and travel goods. After working as an apprentice to a renowned artisan, Vuitton developed an extraordinary skill in working with wood and materials, quickly winning over an aristocratic clientele and Empress Eugénie, wife of Napoleon III.
In 1858, Louis Vuitton revolutionized the world of luggage by introducing the flat-top trunk, which was much more practical to stack than traditional domed models. This innovation marked the beginning of the maison's international success. To counter numerous imitations, the Damier pattern was created in 1888, followed in 1896 by the famous Monogram Canvas, designed by Georges Vuitton, the founder's son. The design featuring the "LV" initials and floral motifs became one of the most recognizable symbols of global luxury.
Throughout the twentieth century, Louis Vuitton expanded its production by introducing bags, suitcases, small leather goods, and accessories. Iconic models such as the Speedy, the Keepall, the Noé, and the Alma have won over generations of enthusiasts thanks to the quality of materials and timeless design.
In the nineties, the maison entered a new phase of development with the arrival of Marc Jacobs, the first creative director of the clothing collections. Collaborations with artists such as Stephen Sprouse, Takashi Murakami, and Yayoi Kusama strengthened the bond between fashion, art, and innovation, helping to continuously renew the brand's image.
