Loro Piana

Loro Piana is a historic Italian luxury clothing company, world-renowned for its production of fine fabrics, particularly cashmere and merino wool. Its origins date back to the 19th century, but the modern business was officially established in 1924, when Pietro Loro Piana founded the company “Ing. Loro Piana & C.” in Quarona, Piedmont. The Loro Piana family had been active in the textile sector since the 1800s, but it was Pietro who gave the enterprise an industrial direction.

Loro Piana patterned silk shirt Over the years, the company has distinguished itself through a constant search for excellence, technological innovation in spinning, and the selection of the finest raw materials from around the world, such as Mongolian baby cashmere and Andean vicuña. Thanks to the vertical integration of the production process, Loro Piana controls every stage of the supply chain, from the sourcing of raw fibers to the production of finished garments.

In the 2000s, under the leadership of brothers Sergio and Pier Luigi Loro Piana, the company expanded its offering into luxury prêt-à-porter, while maintaining artisanal tradition and understated elegance as its distinctive traits. In 2013, the French luxury group LVMH acquired 80% of the company, leaving the remaining 20% to the family. Today, Loro Piana continues to represent a symbol of Made in Italy, synonymous with absolute quality, refinement, and respect for nature and tradition.
