In the '40s, due to resource scarcity during the war, the maison introduced alternative materials such as bamboo, giving rise to the famous Bamboo Bag, which remains an icon of the brand today. In the '50s and '60s, Gucci became a global symbol of luxury thanks to an elite clientele, including actors, aristocrats, and Hollywood stars. Distinctive elements were born, such as the green-red-green ribbon, the equestrian horsebit, and the GG monogram, which would become permanent hallmarks of the maison's identity.
