Not many years pass after the disappearance of the ace Baracca, whose mother, Countess Paolina Baracca, Enzo Ferrari knew. It is June 17, 1923, and the Grand Prix of the Savio circuit is being held near Ravenna. Enzo Ferrari wins this first edition as an Alfa Romeo driver, and Countess Paolina proposes that he adopt her son's prancing horse as his symbol. She gives him permission to apply it to his cars to bring him good luck.

Six years later, in 1929, Enzo Ferrari founds Scuderia Ferrari in Modena, a branch of Alfa Romeo, but it is only in 1932 that he is granted permission to use the prancing horse symbol. And on that very day, victory arrives. However, when the Drake separates from Alfa Romeo to found his own car manufacturer in 1939, he will have to abandon his lucky emblem for five years.

But it is only a matter of time. Starting from the '40s, the prancing horse returns to the track and becomes even more rampant than before, standing out again on the Ferrari S125, the first to bear the name of its inventor. The tail turns upwards, the silhouette becomes slimmer, set against the unmistakable yellow background, chosen in honor of the color of Modena. And below the Ferrari lettering that will become famous, the one with the classic elongated “F”.
