The history of Bottega Veneta: the discreet luxury of Made in Italy
Founded in 1966 in Vicenza, Bottega Veneta began as an artisanal workshop specializing in high-quality leather goods. Its founders, Michele Taddei and Renzo Zengiaro, immediately defined the brand's values: impeccable craftsmanship, precious materials, and essential design. One of Bottega Veneta's distinctive features is the iconic “Intrecciato” weave, a hand-braided leather technique that has become a symbol of the brand.

In the 1970s, the maison gained an international audience thanks to its sophisticated approach and its motto “When your own initials are enough”, which celebrates discreet luxury without conspicuous logos. After a period of decline, Bottega Veneta was acquired by the Kering group in 2001. Collections expanded beyond leather goods to include prêt-à-porter, footwear, jewelry, and home decor, always maintaining a focus on craftsmanship.
In 2018, the arrival of Daniel Lee as creative director redefined the brand with a contemporary and minimalist style, introducing new iconic products such as the Cassette bag and Pouch footwear, which achieved great success. In 2021, Matthieu Blazy took the creative helm, continuing to celebrate the brand's artisanal heritage with an innovative touch.
