Magda Butrym

Magda Butrym wool trousers with pleats

Born in 1985 in Silesia, Poland, Magda Butrym trained as a designer in Warsaw, working for brands such as La Mania and, in 2009, managing the short-lived “Portofino” project in the capital. Half a decade later, in 2014, she founded her eponymous brand, immediately capturing attention with a debut collection considered the “debut of the year.” Made entirely in Poland, the line is based on selected materials and local craftsmanship — knitwear, embroidery, braided leather inserts — executed by masters from regions such as Podhale, Silesia, Nowy Targ, and Warsaw.

Magda Butrym wool trousers with pleats. The brand's style is immediately recognizable: romantic and feminine yet with a strong character, featuring 70s-80s retro influences, ruffles, pronounced shoulders, and floral prints — particularly three-dimensional roses, a recurring symbol of the maison. The designer draws from Slavic tradition and folklore without falling into clichés, creating structured garments, power dressing, and sensual minidresses, often worn by stars such as Rihanna, Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, and Dua Lipa.
