In 1959, he returned to Italy and opened his atelier in Rome, on Via Condotti. Success came quickly: in 1962, he presented a collection in Florence that captivated the international press and buyers. His style was immediately recognizable: pure lines, refined silhouettes, and sophisticated romance. The famous "Rosso Valentino" was born, an intense and vibrant shade that would become the maison's distinctive signature.

In the '60s and '70s, Valentino dressed icons such as Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, who chose his dresses even for her wedding to Aristotle Onassis. His creations embody an aristocratic, feminine, and timeless luxury.

Alongside his partner Giancarlo Giammetti, Valentino built an international haute couture empire, expanding the offering with prêt-à-porter, accessories, and fragrances. The maison became a global symbol of Italian elegance.

In 2008, Valentino retired from the scene with a spectacular farewell show in Paris. Today, the Valentino brand continues under new creative directions, but Garavani's legacy remains central: an idea of classical, romantic, and impeccable beauty.
